Pre-Employment Interviews and Job Readiness for People with Disabilities

“The interview panel made me feel more relaxed with interviewing and coached me right there. Without the mock interviews, I would have failed at my Dell interview and not got the job. I would not have been prepared.”

— JOHN WISDOM

Vocational Rehabilitation former client
and Technical Support Associate at Dell

You have worked your plan and accomplished all of your goals with the aid of your DRS counselor except one - getting that job.

  • Do you know what a good resume looks like to someone who sees them every day?
  • Do you know what to say in an interview or more importantly what not to say?
  • Do you know how to stay calm in front of an interviewer to get the job you want?

The Business Advisory Council Helps You Land that Great Job

  • Employment application preparation
  • Ability matching with job market needs
  • Resume development or critique
  • Job search advice
  • Interview techniques and practice
  • Networking - access to business leaders

Until you’ve been there, done that, the process of applying and interviewing for a job is scary. You may be ready for the workforce, but being ready for an interview is a totally different thing.

Sometimes even though you’ve been there, you still don’t know if you’re saying the right things, or if it’s your resume that’s not opening the door for employment.

Join DRS at the Business Advisory Council’s pre-employment interviews and job readiness forums designed to help you get the job you want.

Comprised of Oklahoma business men and women from the private sector, the Business Advisory Council meets quarterly with DRS to advise on the current and future trends for hiring personnel in Oklahoma.

The council also conducts practice interviews to teach you the do’s and don’ts for landing that perfect job. Experienced business leaders will provide participants in the practice interviews with solid advice on how to sell yourself and your professional abilities in the best possible light.

Come take advantage of a great opportunity to sharpen your skills and increase your chances of landing a great job.
