Adult Protective Services

According to the law, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services administers the Adult Protective Services (APS) program. When someone is concerned about the well-being of an elderly friend, neighbor or relative, adult protective services specialists listen and respond. APS specialists visit the adults 18 and older and determine whether the person is a vulnerable adult and if maltreatment has occurred. The program helps the vulnerable adult find and obtain services.

Alzheimer's Association - Oklahoma Chapter

The Alzheimer's Association recruits and trains respite volunteers. After completing training, each volunteer is carefully matched with a Caregiving family. The volunteer spends 2-4 hours with the person with Alzheimer's or related dementia each week, while the caregiver takes a break.

Support Group: Early-onset and early stage Alzheimer's and related dementias for people under age 65 and their care partners. Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. joann.webster@alz.org. Office Hours: 9 am - 5 pm Mon. thru Fri.

Hearing Screening Program for Newborns

Services:
Short-term, follow-up case management services are provided through the Newborn Screening Program offering support and guidance to healthcare providers and families regarding follow-up recommendations for all children who have an out of range newborn screen result.

Short-term, follow-up case management continues until either the child is diagnosed with a condition or determined to not be affected by the condition.

If a child is diagnosed they are transitioned to long-term, follow-up care and continue being monitored and evaluated through the specialty clinic.
