Emily Cheng has 15 years of experience in working with individuals with disabilities and is passionate about helping them achieve their educational, social, and independent living goals. Cheng is currently Disability Services Coordinator/Academic Advisor at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC), a position she has held since 2005.
Cheng finds it extremely fulfilling to help individuals with disabilities accomplish their goals and reach their full potential. She believes that individuals with disabilities can thrive when they advocate for themselves, are determined to succeed, and are given access to support services.
Her professional background includes higher education and accessibility issues, vocational rehabilitation, mental health services, and advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Tulane University and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Cheng is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
Cheng and her husband have always enjoyed living in the urban core and reside in downtown Oklahoma City, where they love supporting local shops and restaurants.
